Facilitated Yoga (PNF)

What is facilitated Yoga?: The brain's natural impulse when it feels a stretch is to say, "Stop! This could get hurt!" Beyond sheer physical limitation in any stretch, this neurological response that makes your muscles tighten up can prevent you from achieving full benefits.

About the event
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) exercises have been used in Physio & Osteopath practices, and now its found its way to Yoga.
Facilitating stretching involves flexing or engaging a muscle group at the same time you are stretching it. Your brain understands this and works to keep the muscle from overstretching by tensing them up.
Tendons are less able to stretch and more likely to tear, so drawing the stretch to the belly of the muscle protects you from overstretching and injury.
*Sessions are 1-2 hours*
